The article focuses on the role of archaeological investigations into mass graves and subsequent revelation of truth and enforcement of justice. Post violent conflict state authorities or rebels ordered massive killings of people and concealed them in mass graves. Mass grave investigations have made a significant contribution to solving the problem of the missing. The excavation of mass graves can serve different purposes related to the societal rebuilding processes.
