Lean is a fast-growing methodology in the oil and gas industry, especially after the downtimes in 2014. However, Lean requires a fundamental change in the mindset of the company, and a lot of work needs to be done before one becomes truly Lean. The problem statement is as follows “How well is the Aker solutions Lean principle “Prioritize value chain flow efficiency over resource efficiency” implemented in the brownfield segment in the company, and if the current “Key performance indicators” are suitable for analyzing improved prioritization”. The thesis starts with a theory part explaining the origin, and the history of Lean, in addition to important Lean tools, Lean principles and the difference between flow efficiency and resource efficiency. It also describes the project execution model in Aker Solutions with the associated key performance indicators, which are all important for understanding the thesis and the problem statement. The research work describes and explains the Lean implementation process in Aker Solutions, the faced challenges, waste presents in the document production processes, successful implementation stories and the internal flow efficiency reputation among employees, in addition to two studies done on P&ID drawings and key performance indicators.nb_NO
