Sammendrag
This paper makes use of exploratory research design to determine factors effecting pro-environmental behavior. The aim of the present thesis is to compare the effects of socio-demographic variable and accommodation atmosphere on pro-environmental behavior of hotel guests and Airbnb guests. Analysis of Variance, or ANOVA, was used to analyze the effects of different socio-demographic variables on guest’s pro-environmental behavior. Socio-demographic variables consists of age, income, gender and education. Correlation was chosen to analyze the effect of accommodation atmosphere on guest’s pro-environmental behavior. Accommodation atmospheres are external stimuli or general environment that effects behavior response from an individual. The results show that gender, age, income and accommodation factors effect hotel guest’s PEB. For Airbnb guests, gender, age and atmosphere effect their pro-environmental. The results serve as a ground for future research and practical implications for Airbnb.
