Sammendrag
This paper is our Bachelor's thesis as a part of the study program "Datateknologi" at the University of Stavanger, written in the Spring semester of 2021. This thesis has been written in cooperation with Tampnet AS, a telecommunication company which, among other things, manages an offshore LTE network in the North Sea.
The idea for this thesis came from the interest in looking more at signal levels in an offshore LTE network, where there are several challenging factors impacting the radio conditions and how they impact the service availability for the customers.
This thesis aims to investigate data collected from Tampnet's live offshore LTE network and develop methods to identify outages to their LTE services. This thesis will provide background information about LTE and propose four methods to identify outages in the network. The methods will then be applied to the collected data and outage statistics are calculated based on the results. from Tampnet's live LTE network in the North Sea.
