Sammendrag
This study is following a simple model for predicting particle energy-loss due to medium interactions. Observables from heavy-ion collisions suggests the formation of a highly dense medium called quark-gluon plasma (QGP). By understanding how particles lose energy in simple medium-profiles, one might better be rusted to handle the much more complicate medium-profile of QGP. In this study, two simple medium-profiles are considered: the time-independent "brick" and the time-dependent medium following a power-law. In addition to this study, quantum chromodynamics (QCD), the theory of strong interactions, is introduced. The additional Feynman diagrams involving gluon-gluon interactions are also derived.
