Elementer og tema av interesse i bildungsromaner: Brave, Arcane og Coraline

Abstract

Ulike elementer og temaer i coming-of-age-sjangeren påvirker heltinnene og deres handlinger. Denne oppgaven har som mål å identifisere og undersøke likheter og ulikheter i forhold til dette. Jeg tar sikte på å vise hvorfor disse ttemaene og elementene er viktige for endringen i heltinnen, i tillegg til hvordan disse elementene er essensielle for å gjøre det til en historie angåend epersonlig vekst. Det er også viktig å se på hvor ulikt Arcane, Brave og Coraline bruker disse komponentene for å indikere identitet, samtidig endring og vekst.

Different elements and tropes in the coming-of-age genre affect the heroines and their course of action. This thesis aims to identify and examine the similarities and dissimilarities of this narrative. I aim to show why these tropes and element are important for the change within the heroine, in addition to how these elements are essential to make it a coming-of-age story. It is also essential to look at how different Arcane, Brave and Coraline utilize these components to indicate identity, as well as change and growth.
