dc.description.abstractThis thesis on ‘’Geopolymerization of Norite’’ has been a study of plugging materials for plug and abandonment operations, and the different requirements for plug and abandonment operations based on Norsok D-010 standard. The materials studied was, ordinary Portland cement and geopolymers such as; blast furnace slag, metakaolin and Norite. The shrinkage of Portland cement and geopolymers was also looked into as a basis for the shrinkage tests. A series of shrinkage tests were performed on the Norite cement recipe developed by Mahmoud Khalifeh, and the Portland class G cement provided by Halliburton. The results was a 3-3,5 % shrinkage in the class G cement and 0 % shrinkage in the Norite cement exposed to a pressure of 5000 psi and 87oC, the curing time was between 24 to 72 hours.no_NO
