dc.description.abstract | This essay analyzes several british accents used in The Hobbit and The Witcher using phonetics. The goal of the study is to investigate whether or not British accent stereotypes were used to help build the characters. And if different races reflect the stereotypes assosiated with the accent. The study analyses how language attitudes correlates with the description of certain fantasy races. The essay finds correlation between the usage of Recieved Pronouncation, Scottish and Cockney with certain races, and deems the usage, intentional. | |
