Miljøvennlig betong (Optimalisering av bærekraftige materialer og transportløsninger)
Abstract
Increasing environmental concerns are shifting the focus towards more sustainable practices in the construction industry, particularly for today’s most widely used building material, concrete. To find solutions for improving the environmental performance of concrete throughout its lifecycle, various environmental measures are being investigated. The scope of the thesis is divided into two parts. First, a literature review of environmental considerations related to concrete constructions, operation, and end-of-life phase. Second, a case study involving a floating foundation at Randaberg quay. The objective is to identify sustainable materials, practical calculation models, and transportation methods to minimize the environmental footprint. By using eco-friendly concrete, the amount of greenhouse gas emissions can be reduced, and various suggestions for this are presented in the thesis. The final part of the thesis includes a review of limitations and future potential.
