: Hevn og offerskap i Circe av Madeline Miller og Zofloya av Charlotte Dacre

Abstract

Denne bacheloroppgaven fokuserer på hevn og offerskap i romanen "Circe" av Madeline Miller og "Zofloya" av Charlotte Dacre, ved å se på spesifikke handlinger i begge romanene. Hevn og offerskap i romanene er direkte tilknyttet til samfunnskritikk. De overskirdende kvinnelige hovedpersonene som har blitt undertrykket, tar sin hevn ved å handle utenfor rammene av et samfunn som er styrt patriarkatet, en institusjon de utfordrer.

This Bachelor's thesis focuses on the themes of revenge and victimhood in two novels, Madeline Miller's "Circe" and Charlotte Dacre's "Zofloya", by looking at spesific parts in both novels. Revenge and victimhood in both novels is directly connected to social criticsm. The transgressive protagonists of both novels have been oppressed, therefore seeking revenge by acting outside the frameworks of a society that is patriarchal, an institution they challenge.
