dc.description.abstractThis work reviews two near-surface geophysical methods, ground penetrating radar and seismic, covering all the processes from the data acquisition to the interpretation. The area of study, Jæren, is located over glacial deposits, which will be mapped in this work across three locations. The depth of the basement was also interpreted as a result from this study. The problems related to the acquisition are discussed, and the advantages/ disadvantages of each method are debated. A processing workflow is derived from this study as a guideline for future work with radar data. Ground penetrating radar and seismic inversion are combined with the aim of obtaining a robust model to validate the results. It is hoped that this study will serve as a guideline for future geophysical studies using the equipment available at the University of Stavanger.nb_NO
