dc.description.abstractThe investigated area located in the North Sea and covers an area of ca. 1000 km2 between the Stavanger platform and the Norwegian-Danish basin. Farsund basin is an underexplored basin and here, we will examine the basin and focusing on exploration the upper Paleozoic. In order to give better understanding for the area and explain the evolution system in upper Paleozoic time using seismic well data and well logs to map the formations in this area. The main result of this thesis is to map the upper Paleozoic using 2D and 3D seismic data. Concluding the tectonic activity in the different groups in the study area.
