Påvirker sykepleierens holdninger utøvelse av sykepleien til pasienter med en rusmiddellidelse?

Abstract

SAMMENDRAG

Bakgrunn Rus er et aktuelt tema i dagens samfunn og medfører store konsekvenser både for pasienten og de pårørende. Som sykepleier skal man behandle alle pasienter ut ifra samme grunnlag, men det viser seg ofte at pasienter med et rusmisbruk kan bli møtt med en dårligere holdning og blir stigmatisert.

Hensikt Hensikten med denne oppgaven er å undersøke hvordan en sykepleier kan møte pasienter med en ruslidelse med en god holdning som bidrar til å ivareta verdigheten til pasienten.

Metode Metode: Litteraturstudien er basert på to kvantitative forskningsartikler samt en kvalitativ forskningsartikkel. I tillegg til dette har vi også benyttet oss av annen litteratur som er hentet fra ulike bøker og artikler. For å få et bredere perspektiv på oppgaven har vi også valgt å inkludere en artikkel med pasientene sine perspektiv.

Resultat God kunnskap om pasienter med et rusmisbruk og å møte pasienten med gode holdninger er sentrale funn i alle artiklene. Vi har gjort tre hovedfunn som er sentrale for oppgaven: Viktigheten av god kompetanse, manglende kompetanse og pasienten sin opplevelse av helsetjenesten.

Konklusjon God kunnskap og gode holdninger fra sykepleieren vil bidra til at pasientens verdighet blir ivaretatt. Mangel på kunnskap og dårlige holdninger mot pasienter med et rusmisbruk kan frata følelsen av verdighet.

SUMMARY

Background Intoxication is a current topic in today's society and has major consequences for both the patient and the relatives. As a nurse, all patients should be treated on the same basis, but it often turns out that patients with a substance abuse problem can be met with a worse attitude and be stigmatized.

Purpose The purpose of this thesis is to investigate how a nurse can meet patients with a substance abuse disorder with a good attitude that helps to safeguard the dignity of the patient.

Method Method: The literature study is based on two quantitative research articles and a qualitative research article. In addition to this, we have also used other literature taken from various books and articles. To get a broader perspective on the task, we have also chosen to include an article with the patients' perspectives.

Result Good knowledge about patients with substance abuse and meeting the patient with good attitudes are key findings in all articles. We have made three main findings that are central to the thesis: The importance of good competence, lack of competence and the patient's experience of the health service.

Conclusion Good knowledge and good attitudes from the nurse will contribute to the patient's dignity being safeguarded. Lack of knowledge and bad attitudes towards patients with a substance abuse problem can deprive them of a sense of dignity.
