hvordan ansatte i Sopra Steria erfarer hjemmekontor.
Mye tyder
Abstract
The purpose of this master's thesis was to see how the work at the home office is affected in a
project team. Thus, the problem on which this thesis was based was:
How does a home office affect the work in a project team?
This study also addressed 3 research questions that supports the issue. The three research
questions dealt with the topics of communication, stress management and organizational culture.
With that, the task was mainly based within the three teams.
To answer the task, 10 informants were gathered for a qualitative interview study. The informants
were from the company Sopra Steria. Thus, the thesis was mainly based on how employees in
Sopra Steria experience home office. The various informants were from different offices in
Norway and were in an age group between 27 and 60 years. Everyone also had different positions
and backgrounds which helped to enrich this study.
A literature search was carried out on already available research, to gain an insight into what the
situation was like and to see if there have been any changes in comparing the empiricism against
the theory.
The results indicate that home offices can affect work both positively and negatively. There are
many indications that employees prefer a hybrid work life. This means that they have the
opportunity to sit remotely or/and in the office according to their own will. The reasons for this
include efficiency, flexibility, increased focus, conditions at home, social relationships, and wellbeing.
The factors that have had negative impact are a lack of informal conversations, feeling of
isolation, belonging and well-being. On the other hand, efficiency, job autonomy, flexibility and
time saving, for example in the form of travel time, are factors that are perceived to have a
positive influence. Communication has proven to be the biggest challenge in home office. | |
