Hvordan sykepleier kan bidra til et godt samarbeid med foreldre til barn innlagt på sykehus

Abstract

Bakgrunn: Pediatriske innleggelser innebærer ofte å gi omsorg til både barnet og deres foreldre. Bakgrunn for valg av tema er drevet av en forståelse av at foreldres erfaringer og opplevelser under barnas sykehusopphold har betydning for både foreldrenes egen helse og barnets behandling. Som sykepleier står man i en posisjon hvor man kan påvirke samarbeidet med barnets foreldre, og på den måten være en støtte til foreldrene og forbedre behandlingen av barnet.

Hensikt: På bakgrunn av hvordan foreldre til barn på sykehus opplever samarbeid med sykepleier, vil vi belyse hvordan sykepleier kan bidra til et godt samarbeid.

Metode: Metoden som benyttes er systematisk litteraturgjennomgang. Fem kvalitative forskningsartikler er blitt analysert, og satt sammen med relevant teori og egne tolkninger som danner grunnlaget for besvarelsen av bacheloroppgavens hensikt.

Resultater: Gjennom artiklene fremkommer det fire fremtredende aspekter i samarbeidet: rolleavklaring i samarbeidet, kommunikasjon mellom foreldre og sykepleier, foreldredeltakelse i barnets behandling og foreldreomsorg. Resultatene tyder på at god kommunikasjon, gjensidig forståelse og støtte er nøkkelfaktorer for et vellykket samarbeid.

Background: Pediatric admissions often involve providing care to both the child and their parents. Background for the choice of theme is driven by an understanding that parents' experiences during their children's hospital stay are important for both the parents' own health and the child's treatment. As a nurse, you are in a position where you can influence the cooperation with the child´s parents, and in that way be a support to the parents and improve the treatment of the child.

Purpose: Based on how parents of children in hospital experience collaboration with nurses, we will shed light on how nurses can contribute to good collaboration.

Method: The method used is a systematic literature review. Five qualitative research articles have been analysed, and put together with relevant theory and own interpretations which form the basis for answering the purpose of the bachelor's thesis.

Results: Through the articles, four prominent aspects of the collaboration emerge: role clarification in the collaboration, communication between parents and nurse, parental participation in the child's treatment and parental care. The results suggest that good communication, mutual understanding and support are key factors for a successful collaboration.
