dc.description.abstract | I denne bacheloroppgaven var hensikten å undersøke hvordan ansatte i
grensedivisjonen i Tolletaten motiveres.
intervjuer. Empirien ble deretter analysert og kategorisert. Funnene ble kategorisert i
tre hovedkategorier.
sikkerhet i jobb.
dc.description.abstract | The aim of this bachelor thesis was to conduct a qualitative examination of how
employees in the border division of the Norwegian Customs are motivated.
Maslow’s hierarchy of needs and Herzberg’s two-factor theory were used as the
theoretical framework for the research of this examination. The study also explains the
differences between intrinsic, extrinsic and prosocial motivation.
The study was conducted using a qualitative method with individual interviews. The
empirical data was systematically analyzed and categorized. Findings were classified
into three main categories. The main categories are job and tasks, relationships and
working environment and development, goals and career.
The conclusion of this study is that how the employees are motivated is individual and
influenced by various factors such as life phase and seniority. However, it is consistent
that employees are motivated by variety and autonomy in their work tasks,
relationships with colleagues, and job security. They are also motivated by recognition
and the opportunity for both personal and professional development.
Intrinsic motivation is dominant, but prosocial motivation is also strong.
