| dc.description.abstract | The primary objective of this research is to investigate and analyze the intricacies in The Norwegian Customs Sector. While simultaneously assessing the effects and effectiveness of these rules, with collaborations with external entities. The research will particularly aim to look at organizations tasked with law enforcement duties, such as police departments. In order to achieve the objective of the investigation, the principal focus of this dissertation is articulated by the following overarching research questions:
i. How does the Norwegian Customs’ confidentiality regulations impact the sharing of
information with outside organizations, especially law enforcement agencies?
ii. What are the current obstacles and restrictions presented by confidentiality rules
regarding the partnership between the Norwegian Customs and other organizations?
iii. How can we utilize strategies or mechanisms to handle the complexities of
confidentiality while promoting successful partnerships with external parties,
particularly in the field of law enforcement?
The investigation sets out to explore confidentiality and its influence on Norwegian Customs' collaborations with external organizations. Achieving this necessitates an in-depth analysis of applicable laws, regulations, and prior cases depth. The methodological approach integrates qualitative analysis of legal structures, regulations, and case studies with interpretative perspectives from academic literature and expert views and opinions. Qualitative analysis provides an in-depth examination of confidentiality, while interpretative analysis enriches the qualitative findings and reflexive investigation will underscore the credibility of the results. In conclusion, this research will summarize its findings and suggest directions for future research. | |
