Reinforced concrete shear walls are the most common resistance system against lateral loads in reinforced concrete structures. Despite this, many of the reinforced concrete shear walls in the world need to be strengthened and improved due to many reasons, including changes in the requirements of seismic regulations, weakness in design or implementation, the passage of time, and the effect of environmental factors, the implementation of rebar patches in the place of plastic joints. In recent years, FRP sheets have been widely and successfully used in the seismic improvement of structures. Fiber-reinforced polymer is a composite material made of a polymer matrix reinforced with fibers. The fibers are usually glass (in fiberglass), carbon (in carbon-fiber-reinforced polymer), aramid, or basalt.[2] Therefore, in this research, in order to numerically investigate the effect of shear capacity on the ductility of squat reinforced concrete shear walls(1<H/D<3) and to evaluate the effect of strengthening FRPs attached to the wall, as well as the seismic performance of the wall, it has been analyzed and investigated using numerical modeling. By examining and comparing the behavior of control shear walls reinforced with CFRP plates, in static and hysteresis conditions, it shows that ABAQUS finite element software has the possibility of modeling the behavior of concrete walls under high deformations and comparing its results with the results of tests. It has acceptable proximity. Also, the behavior of reinforced walls with different types of FRP sheets (A, G, C) under angles of 30 and 45 degrees was investigated and evaluated. The analyzed walls are including a wall of 1730mmx410mm which is located on a 1795mm x 1500mm wall with 40MPa compressive strength. The results showed that the use of CFRP sheets with bidirectional fibers in two layers is the best method to strengthen the shear wall. Because according to the results obtained from the above analysis, the use of CFRP sheets (unidirectional and bidirectional) always shows less displacement than the change of location with AFRP and GFRP sheets.
