Lillehammer, G. (1987) Looking for individuals among archaeological burial data : an interim model for the relationship between life and death. In R. Bertelsen, A. Lillehammer & JR Ness (Eds.) Were they all men? : an examination of sex roles in prehistoric society : acts from a workshop held at Utstein kloster, Rogaland 2.-4. november 1979, (pp. 79-87). Stavanger : Arkeologisk museum i Stavanger
Abstract
In order to develop working methods to distinguish between individuals in burial material, the author establishes a "pyramid of death". This theoretical model is then applied in a discussion of the usefulness of burial data from the Iron Age cemetary on Kvassheim, Jæren, to give information of past life patterns.
