This paper talks about design, development, and application of a new Petri net simulator for modeling and simulation of discrete event system (e.g. information systems). The new tool is called GPenSIM (General purpose Petri Net Simulator). Firstly, this paper presents the reason for developing a new tool, through a brief literature study. Secondly, the design and architectural issues of the tool is given. Finally, an application example is given on the application of the tool.en_US
