Sammendrag
This paper explores the benefits of simulating ultrasonic inspections on complex components with varying degradation scenarios. Ultrasonic inspection results on complex components are complex and difficult to decipher. By simulating inspection results for a diverse range of degradation scenarios a catalog of inspection results can be created. Often the different degradation scenarios result in unique signal characteristics. A catalog can be created that shows results against a degradation scenario that can then be used to identify in-service inspection results against. This will aid in deciphering inspection results.
