This thesis will provide an installation of a self-managed, on-premise Kubernetes platform for SINTEF's Smart Grid Security Lab, running a network simulator application called Network Simulator verion 3 (NS-3). The solution will be the replacement for their current client-only architecture. The old solution requires the users to maintain the application themselves. The new solution follows best-practises stated by the Cloud-Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) to develop and deliver modern IT services. The goal of the solution is to be a cost-efficient alternative to using cloud-solutions and enterprise Kubernetes Platform as a Service (PaaS), that can deliver an agile NS-3 application as a service.
