| dc.description.abstract | The purpose of this study is to determine how stakeholders in the Stavanger innovation ecosystem can improve their collaboration efforts towards developing better smart and sustainable city solutions to combat climate change. Through a qualitative approach comprised of desktop research, observations, and stakeholder interviews, the study explores the dimensions of a smart economy and smart governance and how cooperation and coordination take place between the dimensions in the Stavanger region. Results reveal that the Stavanger region has a well-established smart economy, where available resources are used to create and execute new solutions for long-term economic growth. The region has also established smart governance with a flexible governance system capable of integrating information and data from various sources to assist in better collective decision-making in collaboration. Overall findings from the project ‘Mitt Klimspor’ showed challenges in cooperation and coordination preventing the growth of the project. The paper highlights the need for establishing a common goal and purpose in the project for stakeholders to be able to move forward in the collaboration. A new framework is produced in this study to be used as a starting point to rethink and reframe collaboration structures and systems toward smart and sustainable city solutions. | |
