Journalisters integritet og troverdighet i møte med maktkilder- En analyse av norske journalisters sitatsjekk-praksis

Abstract

Oppgaven omhandler journalisters troverdighet og integritet i møte med maktkilder i prosessen med sitatsjekk. For å undersøke hvordan sitatsjekk blir utført i redaksjoner og hvordan prosessen med sitatsjekk påvirker journalistikken, baseres undersøkelsen semistrukturert intervju med en intervjuguide. Gjennom intervjuet søker studien hvordan journalister praktiserer sitatsjekk overfor maktkilder, og hvordan dette påvirker deres yrkesutøvelse i ulike retninger. Mine funn tyder på at troverdigheten og integriteten blir noe svekket, men også opprettholdt i når maktkilder får tilgang til sitatsjekk ved ulike faktorer.

The assignment deals with journalists' credibility and integrity when dealing with sources of power in the process of citation checking. To examine how citation checking is carried out in newsrooms and how the process of citation checking affects journalism, the investigation is based on a semi-structured interview with an interview guide. Through the interview, the study searches for how journalists practice citation checking vis-à-vis sources of power, and how this affects their professional practice in various directions. My findings indicate that credibility and integrity are somewhat weakened, but also maintained when sources of power gain access to citation checking.
