dc.description.abstractThe topic of this master's thesis is environmental technology in salmon farming in Norway. The master's program in environmental technology focuses on sustainable and sensible use of the environment. The study deals with concrete issues in the water environment and measures that can be taken to reduce the harmful effects of human activity. The research question in in this study is: How can different environmental technologies be described in terms of strength, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats in Norwegian salmon farming. To make the Problem statement even more concrete, I have chosen to focus on 5 different technologies with partly 5 different forms of production. There I have carried out a SWOT analysis of the various technologies and a SWOT analysis for environmental technology in salmon farming in Norway and the future. To best see the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats to the various forms of production, technologies and the industry as a whole. The research stat has mainly been illuminated through the collection of qualitative data from articles and reports. This has also been done through informal conversations with people in the industry and impressions that have been gained through reading the media.
