Men spørsmålet er om Norge kan fortsette på samme måte og allikvel greie å bli et lavutslipps land i 2050 AbstractNorway has over the years established it self as a leader in international climate policy. With the Paris Agreement it was once again made clear that the fossil fuel extraction has to be faced out. But Norway faces many challenges in this regard. The oil and gas activities have historically contributed to the high standards of living and without this income it will get harder to uphold. The paradox between the international climate leadership and the fossil fuel exportation is in the short term legitimized through the prospects of Carbon Capture and Storage. But the question is if it possible to continue on the same path and to continue exploitation in the vulnerable and still become a low-carbon society in 2050.
