Abstract
Studieobjektet til denne masteroppgaven er et kommunalt lederteam. Og formålet med studien er å bidra til økt kunnskap om hvordan samhandlingen i lederteam kan utspille seg. Mer spesifikt handler oppgaven om hvordan lederteamets medlemmer bruker hverandre og samhandler i forberedende faser av teamets arbeid.
Avhandlingens teoretiske forståelsesramme utgjøres av et relasjonelt perspektiv, som innebærer at relasjoner og mellommenneskelige forhold settes i fokus for undersøkelsen. Relasjonell tenkning har både formet studiens fokusområder og vært viktig i fortolknings og analysearbeid.
Med bakgrunn i oppgavens fokus på å avdekke og forstå samhandlingsprosesser og samhandlingsmønstre, ble et kvalitativt undersøkelsesopplegg vurdert som mest hensiktsmessig. Mer konkret bygger oppgaven på primærdata samlet inn gjennom to runder med kvalitative intervju, og gjennom observasjon av fire samhandlingssekvenser. Samtidig ligger en abduktiv forskningsstrategi til grunn for studiet, og undersøkelsens fokus og problemstilling har gradvis blitt spisset underveis i forskningsprosessen.
Avhandlingens funn viser med tydelighet at teammedlemmene samhandler og bruker hverandre i forberedelsen av flere og ulike typer oppgaver. Eksempelvis i forkant av interne møter og eksterne presentasjoner. I oppgaven skilles det mellom forberedelse gjennom formell- og uformell medarbeidersamhandling. Og for å få tak på dette ble begrepene om formell- og uformell samforberedelse utviklet. Her forstås samforberedelse som forberedelse teammedlemmene utøver i samarbeid med hverandre. Til slutt konkluderes det med at begge typer samforberedelse virker å være en del av lederteamets samhandlingskultur.
