dc.description.abstract | Code-switching into a constructed language is quickly becoming a staple of fantasy and science-fiction movies and TV-Series. This thesis examines instances of code-switching in The Lord of the Rings and The hobbit to establish patterns in the use of code-switching. The Markedness Model has been used to analyze the scripts in order to find this pattern and to determine if the code-switching that occur in these movies differ from code-switching in a natural verbal dialogue. | |
