Historiebruksanalyse av norske landsmøtetaler

Abstract

Oppgaven er en historiebruksanalyse som gjennom analyse av landsmøtetaler fra Arbeiderpartiet og Høyre, og undersøker hvordan historiebruken i landsmøtetaler har utviklet seg fra etterkrigstiden og frem til i dag for å besvare oppgavens problemstilling «hvordan har historiebruken endret seg i norske landsmøtetaler fra etterkrigstiden og frem til i dag?».

For å besvare problemstillingen har talene blitt analysert med en teoretisk innholdsanalyse som metode. I forlengelsen av dette har tidligere forskning og relevant teori har vært utgangspunktet for utvikling av en typologi som danner det teoretiske rammeverket for analysen.

Noen av funnene som blir drøftet i oppgaven er hvordan historiebruken i landsmøtetalene som utgjør empirien er mer ideologisk forankret i 2021 enn på 1950- og 1980-tallet, hvordan fortidige referanser går fra å ha en funksjon i seg selv til i stedet å bli brukt som en del av lengre resonnementer og fremveksten av personlig historiebruk hvor talerens personlige erfaringer og tanker får stadig større plass.

The thesis is an analysis on the use of history in party conference speeches from the Norwegian labour party and conservative party and examines how the use of history has changed from the post war-era until today.

To answer the topic question, which is “how has the use of history changed in Norwegian party conference speeches from the post war-era until today” the thesis uses a theoretical qualitative content analysis as a method. In relation to this, existing research and theories has been instrumental in developing a typology which in turn is the theoretical framework for the analysis.

Some of the findings discussed in the thesis is how the speeches analyzed had a more ideological foundation in the history uses in 2021 than in the 1950s and 1980s, how references to the past goes from having a function in on itself to instead being a part of a longer rhetorical point, and the advancement of personal history use where the speakers personal experiences and thoughts are prominent.
