Sammendrag
The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975) contains two marriages, with the first one introducing a conservative marriage conventions. Through a structural approach, the thesis shows how the film works against Mary-Catherine Harrison's marriage plot, and the expectations set from it. When these fail to be fulfilled, the queer narrative becomes evident. Combined with genre studies, in particular the gothic, the two approaches work together to underscore the film's queer narrative, and through this, queers and deconstructs the conventional heteronormative marriage.
