Abstract

“Vil Hawaii miste naturlivet som et resultat av overturisme?” Denne oppgaven handler om overturisme på Hawaii, og hvordan det har ført til skade av naturlivet deres. Oppgaven prøver å finne svar på om naturen deres har en mulighet til å overkomme presset fra turismen og klimaendringer samtidig. Oppgaven handler også om at det finnes muligheter å bevare naturlivet på, og samtidig tilfredsstille turistindustriens behov. Samt hvordan bærekraft og økoturisme kan være med på å bevare Hawaiis naturliv. Det er brukt litteraturstudier for å undersøke, besvare oppgaven og informasjonen som har blitt funnet har vært undersøkt og brukt til å svare på oppgavens problemstilling. Resultatet fra litteraturarbeidet bidrar med å vise at det er behov for bedre håndtering av turisme og menneskeaktivitet når det innebærer å beskytte naturlivet på Hawaii.

“Will Hawaii lose their wildlife as a result of overtourism?” This thesis is about overtourism in Hawaii, and how it has led to damage to their nature. This paper tries to find answers to whether their nature has the opportunity to overcome the pressure that comes from tourism and climate change. This thesis tries to find if there are any solutions to preserve nature and meet the needs of the tourism industry at the same time. It also tried to find out how sustainability and ecotourism can help preserve Hawaii’s nature. Literature studies have been used to research and find an answer, the information found has been studied and used to answer the question of this paper. The result from the literature review has helped in highlighting that there is a need for better management of tourism and human activity when it comes to protecting Hawaii's nature.
