Hvorfor oppsøker folk vulkanturisme og er det etisk forsvarlig?

Abstract

I denne oppgaven skal jeg se nærmere på å finne ut om utvikling av vulkanturisme med etisk grunnlag kan bidra til at de vanligste måtene å oppsøke denne type turisme er bærekraftige. Oppgavedelingen er på fire kapitler som skal forklare de forskjellige typer for turisme som mest hører til i vulkanturismen med teorier og eksempler, og ved å lese igjennom flere bøker og egne erfaringer fra både meg og andre aktive vulkanturister skal jeg drøfte hvordan nåværende utvikling har bidratt til å forbedre sikkerheten og det etiske grunnlaget for vulkanturisme. I tillegg for drøftingen vil jeg bruke dokumentanalyse og kvalitativ metode til å samle inn informasjon fra flere valide kilder og sammenligne dem for å skape et grunnlag. Jeg vil hovedsakelig ha teorier fra de to mest vanlige gruppene av turister som oppsøker vulkanturismen ha det som grunnlag til konklusjonen av analysen og drøfting. Det viser seg at utviklingen av vulkanturisme, hvis den fortsetter sånn som fleste reiselivsbedrifter og nasjoner driver med det, at det kan vise seg at for mørk turisme og adventure turisme så kan vulkanturisme i fleste land og eksempler være bærekraftig og etisk forsvarlig. Denne utviklingen blir ikke påtvunget, men viser grunnlag til at hvis etikken er grunnen til utvikling, så vil destinasjonene kunne være bærekraftige og etiske også være inspirasjon til både flere destinasjoner innen vulkanturisme, men også for andre typer av turisme.

In this thesis, I will take a closer look at finding out whether the development of volcano tourism with an ethical basis can help ensure that the most common ways of seeking out this type of tourism are sustainable. The assignment is divided into four chapters that will explain the different types of tourism that most belong in volcano tourism with theories and examples, and by reading through several books and my own experiences from both myself and other active volcano tourists, I will discuss how current developments have contributed to to improve the safety and ethical basis of volcano tourism. In addition to the discussion, I will use document analysis and qualitative methods to collect information from several valid sources and compare them to create a basis. I will mainly have theories from the two most common groups of tourists who seek out volcano tourism as a basis for the conclusion of the analysis and discussion. It turns out that the development of volcano tourism, if it continues as most tourism companies and nations do, that it may turn out that for dark tourism and adventure tourism, volcano tourism in most countries and examples can be sustainable and ethically justifiable. This development is not forced, but shows the basis that if ethics is the reason for development, then the destinations will be able to be sustainable and ethical and also be an inspiration for both more destinations within volcano tourism, but also for other types of tourism.
