This thesis goes through, the masculinity of a hikikomori and their stigma attached to theenvironment around. Using theories from Erving Goffman’s stigma and Debbie Ging,masculinity theory. This thesis is using secondary interview sources and text literature toanalyze the topic. The findings show the effect of how close environment can turn one into ahikikomori and how they act in extreme ways. The analyze ends with potential way of how tobring hikikomoris back to society.
