dc.description.abstract | This thesis is a descriptive study on educational resources produced and presented by the NGO, Facing History and Ourselves in the collection/book Holocaust and Human Behaviour [2016]. Using semiotic analytical tools, the paper describes the meeting between the [implied] reader and the perpetrators, the horror and the evil of the Holocaust. The study argues for the historical pedagogical potential of using perpetrators of the Holocaust as history resources to develop knowledge and understanding of perpetrating in order to answer the call of never again. The thesis is that identifying factors that contribute as enemies of democracy is important not only for understanding Holocaust but also developing democratic citizenship. The goal is not only to confirm the thesis, but also identify the restrictions in perpetrator-learning. | nb_NO |
