Abstract

In this study, I have wondered how an educational leader views his adult role in outdoor play. This bachelor thesis will be based on the problem "How does a pedagogical leader in the kindergarten view his adult role in outdoor play?". In this context, I have looked at various concepts and theories related to adult roles in outdoor play. By using the qualitative research method and interview, I have analyzed findings and set them up against theorists' statements to answer the problem. The results show that the pedagogical leader I have interviewed has good knowledge of different types of adult roles in outdoor play and reflected on his work with this. It had been added that it is important to observe the toy before the adult intervenes. Another key theme was also helping children into the play, in addition to what can ruin the play, as well as whether she should intervene in relation to conflicts or not.
