dc.description.abstract | Title
Establishment and development of effective teams in the hotel industry.
Purpose
The purpose of the text is to examine the best method and strategy for establishing and further developing an effective team in the hotel industry.
Problem statement
How can you establish and further develop effective teams in the hotel industry?
Method
A qualitative method has been used in the form of in-depth interviews and articles from previous research.
Result
Based on our findings, we have tried to find out whether the theories about the development of effective teams are used in practice, and whether the managers were possibly aware of it. Most managers believed that open communication and collaboration were the most important driving forces for the development of an effective team. It turned out that the theories that we tried to explore are used in the hotel industry, but the managers were not necessarily aware of them.
Discussion
It turned out that reality is not necessarily as the theories describe it. The different theories turned out to be dependent on the industry, company, department, and team in which they can be used. Thus, it varies which of them can be found in the different teams.
